The Mercer County Historical Society serves as a central hub for exploring the history of our county— its people, places, and events. Located at 119 South Pitt Street in historic Mercer, our facilities include our office, a genealogy and reference library, and various displays and galleries detailing the county’s past. These resources are always free and open to the public.

Since our founding in 1946, we have been dedicated to preserving and protecting Mercer County’s heritage, supported by our members and the Mercer County commissioners. We continue to offer extensive opportunities for engagement through our museums, historic sites, and a variety of programs, activities, and publications.
