The Mercer County Historical Society is your headquarters for learning about the history of our county—its people, its places, and its events. We invite you to visit our center of operations at 119 South Pitt Street in historic Mercer. There you will find our office, our genealogy and reference library, and many displays and galleries about our county’s past. Our facilities are always free and open to the public. Founded in 1946 to preserve and protect the past of Mercer County and supported in part by our members and by the Mercer County commissioners, we continue to be a thriving organization, offering opportunities to all individuals through our museums and other historic sites and our wide variety of programs, activities, and publications.
