Our Story

This federal style house, built in 1826 is the earliest brick house in Greenville and one of the earliest between Erie and Pittsburgh. The stepped gables and tripartite windows are original.

Builders were brothers James and A.P. Waugh (1st Postmaster of West Greenville). James' son William was the last Waugh to live in the house. He sold it to Dr. Joseph Doyle who lived in and had his office there. In the 1940's it became a boarding house for wives and families stationed at Camp Reynolds. After WWII it was an apartment building until the 1990's.
